About ‘Mahant Ji’ (Head of the Dham)

Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri is the Founder-Mahant of Shree Balaji Dham Hansi; under his divine leadership, he has played a pivotal role in the establishment, development, and expansion of the Dham, elevating it to remarkable heights both within the country and abroad.

Born into a middle-class farming family in Haryana, his father was a farmer and his mother was a homemaker. He received his primary and secondary education at a Navodaya Vidyalaya, after which he earned a B.Sc. (Medical) degree from M.D. University, Haryana. Subsequently, he obtained a Master's degree from Guru Jambheshwar University and earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry.

Initially, he served for some time as a Gazetted Officer in the Central Government. However, following the spiritual guidance of his Guru—who told him that his true purpose was not to serve an institution, but to serve humanity—Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri resigned from government service.

Renouncing worldly comforts and luxuries, he has dedicated his life entirely to the service of humanity and, by the grace of Lord Balaji, is engaged in liberating people from physical, material, and spiritual afflictions.

Renowned as “Shraddheya Mahant,” Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri is known for his sharp intellect, profound wisdom, deep understanding of the Vedas, Puranas, and Shastras, divine personality, remarkable spiritual insight, and fervent patriotism.

Our Guru Tradition (Spiritual Lineage)

Our revered Guru Maharaj is—God-realized and worthy of remembrance at the break of dawn—Saint Shri Shri 1008 Chhajuram Ji Maharaj.

He served in the Indian Army, and after his retirement, he regularly visited the holy Mehandipur Balaji Dham. There, he received divine blessings from our Grand Guru Maharaj, the revered Shri Ganesh Puri Ji Maharaj, who entrusted him with a sacred duty of service.

He blessed them with these words: “Serve the people and assist those who are suffering—especially those affected by negative forces or spiritual obstacles. Alleviate their suffering and guide them toward healing.”

Thus began our divine Guru lineage—with Dada Guru Maharaj Shri Ganesh Puri Ji (Puri Sampradaya) and Guru Maharaj Shri Chhajjuram Ji Maharaj.

Service and Divine Court

Guru Maharaj Shri Chhajuram Ji used to organize a ‘Divine Court’ in his village, where he remained completely immersed in devotion and spiritual practices.

Devotees would come to him from far and wide with their problems, and through his divine blessings, illnesses, obstacles, afflictions, and spiritual distress were dispelled.

Through his grace, the lives of countless people were filled with peace, relief, and positivity.

Spiritual Succession (The Current Mahant)

As the time of Guru Maharaj Shri Chhajju Ram Ji drew near, he recognized the extraordinary qualities and spiritual potential in the present Peethadheeshwar, Mahant Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj.

He blessed them and said: “My time is now drawing to a close. It is now up to you to carry forward this divine service, to manage the affairs of the Darbar, and to spread the glory of Balaji Maharaj (Mehandipur Hanuman Ji) far and wide.”

Service and Faith in Today's Times

Today, under the guidance of Pujya Mahant Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj, this divine court is running continuously with utmost reverence and devotion.

Every day, thousands of devotees visit this sacred site with faith and devotion; through the boundless blessings of Balaji Maharaj, their wishes are fulfilled, and their sufferings are alleviated.

This sacred shrine has become a center of hope, faith, and spiritual peace for those facing difficulties, fear, and sorrow.

Spirituality

Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj's parents noticed his spiritual inclinations from a very young age. From childhood, he displayed a natural affinity for spirituality. While other children in the village were busy playing, he would often sit alone and deeply contemplate nature and God. His parents were amazed by his thoughts and behavior, as it seemed that he was no ordinary child. His deep devotion to God gradually became an integral part of his personality. His lifestyle, speech, and conduct were unique and markedly different from other children his age.

As time passed, due to some unseen family circumstances, his family suddenly faced a severe period of physical, financial, and spiritual hardship. The family's situation deteriorated day by day, and even basic necessities began to be lacking in the home. These challenges began to impact Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj's physical condition, causing him immense suffering. His parents traveled to various places to seek treatment and solutions.

Finally, blessed by the merits and fortune of his past lives, he was taken to the world-famous Mehandipur Balaji Temple to find relief. There, not only was his suffering alleviated, but he also had the good fortune of meeting 'Guruji'—a saintly soul and a staunch devotee of Shri Balaji Maharaj. Shri Chhajju Ram Ji Maharaj accepted him as his guru, and in turn, his guru accepted him as his disciple.

He began visiting his Guru's ashram, where, with his blessings, all his troubles were completely and permanently alleviated. His Guru had dedicated his life to selflessly helping people overcome physical, spiritual, and worldly difficulties. Recognizing all the qualities of a true disciple in Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj, his Guru blessed him by entrusting him with the responsibility of establishing a "Divya Darbar" to help people in the same way.

Some time later, his revered Guru passed away. Honoring his Guru's blessings and instructions, Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj began organizing the "Divya Darbar" every month at Shri Balaji Dham Hansi. The five-day Divya Darbar is held during the sacred days of the Shukla Paksha (Ekadashi, Dwadashi, Trayodashi, Chaturdashi, and Purnima), where devotees gather to seek relief from their sufferings and guidance. Serving humanity through this Divya Darbar has become the ultimate purpose of his life. For this noble cause, he renounced high positions and material comforts. Today, this selfless service has spread to various parts of India and abroad, where Divya Darbars are held; these Darbars help countless people overcome their difficulties and lead a peaceful life.

In addition to providing relief from suffering, Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj—who himself is highly educated—is completely dedicated to serving society by promoting the values of culture (sanskaar), Sanatana Dharma, education, awareness, cleanliness, and social harmony. He constantly works to guide people away from superstitions and toward a life filled with positivity, discipline, and devotion.

Blessed is the land of India, and blessed are the parents who gave birth to such a divine soul. The mere presence of Shri (Dr.) Dinesh Puri Ji Maharaj fills people with positivity and faith. His blessings and compassion continue to guide and uplift the lives of countless people.
